Purpose
The Ministry of Home Affairs is steadfast in its commitment to understand and address the rising cost of living challenges faced by Bermuda's residents and businesses. In alignment with this dedication, the Ministry hosted a Cost of Living Summit in June 25, 2025. This event convened representatives from government, industry, labour, and the community to collaboratively examine the systemic drivers of Bermuda's high costs and to develop actionable strategies for sustainable relief. From the Summit, over 100 recommendations were collected from both the public and stakeholders, focusing on key pillars of Food Security, Imports, Utilities, Housing, and Health. These recommendations where captured and reviewed by the Ministry, and have formed part of the cost of living report titled the Affordable Bermuda Agenda.
The Affordable Bermuda Agenda is the Ministry of Home Affairs’ official roadmap to reduce the cost of living in Bermuda. Built on research, stakeholder feedback, and cross-sector collaboration, this strategic document outlines both immediate relief actions and long-term policy solutions to make life more affordable for Bermudians.
